Robert Gribbin plays howard,who on the outside appears to be a normal american man who loves his mother,likes making model cars and spends his days working as a laundry van driver.But on the inside he is a psychotic killer who loves to pick up female hitchikers and quiz them about their mothers.If they tell him they are not running away from home and that they love their moms howard drops them off and they go on their way.If on the other hand they say the opposite something snaps in his head and they end up raped and murdered.One day he picks up and abducts an 11 year old girl and soon after the police are on his trail when they find a reciept from howards place of work in the young girls hand.Theres a scary message here about the dangers of hitchiking and the film isn't the worst of its kind,the rape scenes are quite tame though and the gore is fairly low as most of the victims are strangled,but if your into these types of films then its worth a look.There is little chance of this being released uncut in the uk anytime soon so you will have to keep your eyes open for this old pre-cert video,it dosen't turn up that often though.
